New Project: The Golden Nugget - Atlantic City, NJ
The Golden Nugget Atlantic City, located on Frank S. Farley
Marina, is a premier resort destination offering guests more than 740 rooms and
suites. The entire property recently finished a $150 million renovation and is
taking on a fresh, modern look including a high-energy casino, a lavish rooftop
pool and hot tub deck with alluring fire pits, and a new 12,000 square foot
state-of-the-art Spa and Salon.
The property’s H20 pool and lounge evokes
a vibrant atmosphere with upscale décor, bright colors, and plush furniture. Bradford
Products fabricated the rooftop pools and hot tubs in durable stainless steel clad
with tile to provide lightweight, reliable vessels to endure the rigors of the
oceanside environment. The pool and hot tubs are open all year for guests to
enjoy. Custom stainless steel fire features within the contemporary seating
areas of the pool deck set the mood for guests to enjoy the cooler evening
temperatures.
On the fourth floor, the facility showcases a luxurious
destination resort spa. Bradford engineered and fabricated vitality pools,
SteamRooms®, and saunas for both mens’ and womens’ relaxation areas. Bradford
provided the hydrotherapy amenities with the opulence you would expect from the
Golden Nugget brand. The Spa’s aquatic amenities compliment the serene environment
of the spa, and mesh with the energetic concept of the overall facility. In
addition to the co-ed common area amenities, Bradford provided a private
vitality pool for the VIP couple’s treatment area.

On-board Spa Experience - The Private Heaven
Bradford Products has become more involved with the design
and fabrication of on-board wellness suites and yacht spas for new and
renovated mega yachts. Participation as a co-panelists at this year’s
Superyacht Design Symposium in Miami, Bradford’s Paul Greenman had the
opportunity to address on-board space allocation as the key to integrating
custom spa experience wellness amenities on board. Furthermore, collaboration
with the spa consultant, architect, designer, and product supplier at the
earliest possible involvement of the project was just as significant.
Adding to Bradford’s already acclaimed custom yacht spas, we introduced the concept of the Private Heaven experience cabin. The builders, architects, designers, and owners in the audience were amazed when they heard that they could have the experience of a caldarium’s dry, warm heat to relax in with soft sound and aroma, next, press a button to fill the experience “cabin” with steam, and then engage the Experience Shower portion of the Private Heaven, which would most likely be an Arctic Blast for a rapid cool down after the warm steam. Upon closing the pores of the skin with “chill” they could then run through a synchronized sequence of Tropical Rain, Island Storm, or Aqua Massage, programmed in conjunction with light, temperature changes, aroma, and sound, with intermittent side body jets and misters working in harmony to provide the true experience of a Private Heaven. What totally astounded the Superyacht Design Symposium audience was when this could be provided in no more space than a normal sized shower stall. With space being a premium, even aboard a megayacht, this was “private heaven” sent to them.

A Tour of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show
Bradford's Paul Greenman gives an update on his recent involvement with the yacht industry...
After participating as a co-panelist at the 2012 Superyacht
Design Symposium in Miami, I attended the Fort Lauderdale Boat show and was
surprised at how many Boat Show participants had been part of the recent Symposium
as well. The Boats International Media
group, who were basically my “chaperones” for the two events, did a wonderful job
of navigating me through the Boat Show, making sure I met the right mix of boat
builders, more designers, and more architects. I am grateful for the guidance and professionalism of Kimberly Gonzales,
in this respect.
What I found unfathomable on the big yachts were the hot
tubs. I toured 60 meter, 70 meter, 100
meter boats upwards from $20 to $40 million. The attention to detail in the salons, bridges, staterooms, and galleys
was truly artful. The materials whether
fine marble, bamboo, teak, leather, fabrics, or artwork, were all designed to
mesh with each other and were nothing short of a masterpiece. Then you got to the hot tub and it was a
plain white plastic hot tub. I could
barely believe it. If I were an owner, I
would be furious. It was like you
‘stopped short” when you got to this area and just didn’t finish it off. How could that kind of money be spent without
the same attention to detail being given to an area that is every bit as
important to the well-being of mind, body, and soul?
Many boat designers, architects, and owners did not realize they
have the ability to create customized yacht spas with artistic tile, exciting
water features, and sensational relaxation. Hot tubs for yachts of this caliber
vessel deserve the most exclusive, personalized, and luxurious hot tubs that
the aquatic industry has to offer. Bradford offers a new kind of luxurious, stunning hot tub, like the yacht spa we constructed for the Hemisphere.
The only conclusion I could arrive at was that they just
don’t know about Bradford and that’s not their fault. I have a lot of work to
do.
Kudos are in order to all the participants, attendees, and
emergency management at the Boat Show.
Boaters are a resilient bunch and not unaccustomed to bad weather. Hurricane
Sandy pelted the show for two days yet everyone simply did the best they could
with what was in front of them.
